If the driver does not have insurance you may be able to make a claim from the Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) which is an organisation funded by the insurance industry to help drivers in this situation. Claims of this type may take a little longer to process, and you should bear in mind that they will be looking to keep the costs to a minimum.
